Vaidehi Mankar
Meet Vaidehi Mankar, the visionary creative director behind Mayura Dance. With a passion for dance that spans over 25 years, Vaidehi's journey through the world of movement has been nothing short of transformative.
Dance has always been more than just a hobby for Vaidehi; it's been her lifeline, her form of expression, and her ultimate source of empowerment. From a young age, she found solace and joy in the rhythm of her footsteps, discovering the power of movement to convey emotions and tell stories.
Vaidehi's dance journey began with Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form, where she dedicated 12 years to honing her craft and mastering its intricate movements. But her thirst for exploration led her to delve into other styles, including Kathak, Bollywood, Hip Hop, Jazz, Pom, and Contemporary, expanding her repertoire and enriching her artistic expression.
During her time at the University of Texas, Vaidehi's talent and dedication shone brightly as she became a proud member of the award-winning Garba Raas Team, Dirty South Dandiya, and later, Texas Mohini. Her passion for dance continued to flourish even after leaving Texas, as she joined the esteemed dance team Nachle SF during her time in San Francisco.
Upon relocating to Houston, Vaidehi embarked on a new chapter in her dance journey by founding Mayura Dance. With her wealth of experience, unwavering dedication, and boundless creativity, she has transformed Mayura Dance into a dynamic and vibrant community where dancers of all backgrounds come together to celebrate the beauty of movement.
For Vaidehi, dance is more than just steps and choreography; it's a language that transcends boundaries, connects hearts, and empowers individuals to embrace their true selves. Through Mayura Dance, she continues to inspire others to find their passion, unleash their creativity, and dance their way to fulfillment and joy.

With a commitment to excellence and an unwavering passion for dance, Mayura offers comprehensive dance classes suitable for individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced dancers. These classes cover a wide range of Bollywood dance styles, ensuring that participants receive a well-rounded dance education and an opportunity to explore different techniques and choreographies. In addition to regular classes, Mayura Dance specializes in wedding and special event choreography for all skill levels and many south Asian styles. Mayura also has a highly skilled performance team which can be hired to present an entertaining performance for almost any event - weddings, galas, festival, corporate events and more!
